COVID-19: OUR REMOTE WILL WRITING AND LPA SERVICES CONTINUE

The Country is still in lockdown with no endpoint in sight, forcing us all to change and adapt to a different way of life. It also gives us some time and space to think about our own mortality and whether we have our affairs in order to make it easier on loved ones if anything were to happen. With all but key-workers working from home and everyone in self-isolation we have had lots of enquiries as to whether we can even take instructions for new Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney during this time. We want to reassure you that we are still working remotely from home to provide you with our expert advice and assistance with your Wills and Lasting Power of Attorney as quickly and efficiently as possible.

We have policies in place to guarantee that we maintain our highest level of service to you whilst our offices remain closed. We understand that for many of our clients balancing childcare and home working may mean that finding the time in the day to speak to a solicitor can prove tricky during these unprecedented times. That is why we offer appointments via telephone or video call during the day or in the evenings and at weekends to ensure that you speak to us quickly and allow us to draft documents and email them to you for review without delay.

Social distancing rules mean that we can’t meet with you face-to-face to sign your Wills. The law requires you to sign your Will at the same time as two independent witness in order that it is considered legally valid. Our clients have been getting creative and have asked neighbours to witness them signing through open windows or on car bonnets. Our Wills and Probate solicitor Amye Aris has even met with clients in her front garden and signed outside on a table set up especially for the purpose, with her husband as second witness, all the while remaining two metres apart from clients at all times!

If you would like to book an appointment to speak to a solicitor about your Will or Lasting Power of Attorney email [email protected] or call 01908 542 677 and we will be happy to assist.
